Facilitating Learning™: Background
Examining the difference between "lecturing" and "facilitating" provides the theme of this two-day workshop, with a focus on how to enhance adult learning through effective facilitation and communication skills.
1. Advanced Presentation Skills
We recommend that each participant be a presenter with some
experience. This means that part of the Facilitating Learning workshop
will focus on refreshing and polishing presentation techniques.
2. Advanced & Intermediate Facilitation Skills
Participants will receive handouts that focus on the specific needs
of facilitating adults. Our instructor’s role is to blend presentation
technique, with facilitation technique, according to the skill level of
the group.
3. Good Communication Equals Good Learning
McLuhan & Davies research shows how learning can be improved
through knowledge of: communication styles (plus learning styles); and
blending of interactive, analytical and spontaneous facilitation.
