12 Resolutions for 2012
1) Build more business relationships through face-to-face than ever before.
2) Start answering those tough questions with a smile, then speak.
3) Dress always to enhance your credibility. You represent your company's brand.
4) Say thank-you more often. Verbally, or by email, text, & in handwriting for the more personal touch!
5) Only pass on info that helps a situation, and is not harmful to a relationship.
6) Smile more often to bridge differences, languages and cultures.
Building Your Skills: How Public Workshops Can Help
With the arrival of a new year, comes a new opportunity to focus on the communications skills you would like to build upon.
An effective way is to take a public workshop. Not only will you learn best practices in writing, speaking and communicating in general. You'll also have the opportunity to network with other professionals and bring valuable knowledge back to your organization.
Our Public Workshops Manager, Diane Shrimpton, shares why clients take our workshops, what they can expect, and how they have responded to learning new skills
4 Rules for Managers who need their employees to build Effective Workplace Relationships ™

1. Don't assume your employees have the full skill-set needed to build sustainable, trust-based relationships with all key stakeholders.
You may be hoping (or seriously believe) that your employees' social skills are good enough ... and that they should be taking personal responsibility for getting on with each other ... and with anybody who is important to your business ... and that you don't need to worry about it ...
Well, you may need to reconsider this!
Good social skills are rarely enough for sustained success in the workplace. In fact, they can really get in the way of building effective business relationships.
Acronyms exclude. They are a foreign language to those not in the know. Use sparingly. #communications #esl #writing
